E3: Sony Holds News Conference Ahead of Electronic Entertainment Expo
On Monday, Microsoft held a pre-E3 press conference at 12:30 p.m. EDT. Ubisoft presented its E3 lineup at 4 p.m. EDT. Sony held its presser at 9 p.m. EDT.
LOS ANGELES - Microsoft confirmed it will launch an Xbox console this year and in 2017 during its Monday press conference ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The Xbox One S is being touted as 40 percent lighter than the original Xbox one, will feature support for 4K and have a redesigned controller. Microsoft said the new console will also have the ability to be placed horizontally or vertically, “in response to fan requests worldwide.”
Xbox One S will have three options for hard drive space: 500GB, 1TB and 2TB launch edition. Xbox said the consoles will launch in August, with the 2TB option costing $399 USD, the 1TB option costing $349 USD and the 500GB version costing $299 USD.
