#UdtaPunjab: Bombay High Court Orders Upcoming Film to Be Released With 1 Cut Following Censorship Case

The Central Board of Film Certification had suggested that the crime thriller, which features scenes with profanities and drug use, have 13 cuts made before its release in Indian theaters on Friday.
In a massive victory to the makers of the controversial Bollywood film Udta Punjab, the Bombay High Court has cleared the film with just one cut.
The court cleared the film except the scene where the actor Shahid Kapoor is seen urinating. Apart from it, the entire film will be released with 'A' category and a revised disclaimer.
The court said that "the film does not defame Punjab and does not encourage drug addiction".
Earlier, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had cleared the film with 13 cuts under the ‘A’ category, Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani said on Sunday.
The Abhishek Chaubey-directed film is tentatively scheduled for release on June 17.
